Vectra VXR Tyre Wear

I fitted Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 235/40R18 95Y XL tyres on 15/08/2009 - Mileage at that time : 23,417

Today (19-01-2011) had replaced all 4 tyres as they were all finished - Mileage 32,084

Done 8,667 miles in that year and a half period

I swap them all round to get even tyre wear and have a Quaiffe LSD fitted... 305 BHP remap and 389 Lb/ft torque

Do you use the road tyres on the track or do you change to racing tyres?

302BHP, 528Nm and a lead right foot doesn't do anything for their durability.

Tyre wear like that is all down to the pink squishy bit behind the wheel more than the car.

(says someone with less than 6k from a set of nexans on a 3.0cdti)

That seems reasonable to me Steve Im lucky if i can get anywhere near 7k on my 2.0T with Vredestien sessantas, think its my roads up here that kills them!?

Well I suppose I scrub tread off the tyres with accelleration... cornering.... and braking... and I do a lot of all three

So tyres are doomed really, right from the start

But I do like the Goodyear F1's and very happy to have another set, ready for round three... ding ding
