    Default Damp problems...

    What do you all suggest...

Dont think Ive got leaks or anything, to be honest Im pretty sure its from the continued use of the car during the wet weather and snow thats soaked the floor....

Its the drivers side, carpet feels ok, maybe a little damp but the sound proofing underneath is soaked. I found it when removing the plastic chassis number thing when hoovering around it.

But, both the front and rear windows now get a lot of condensation forming on the insides.

Any suggestions on what to do ?

    Thanks all,

    Mark

i have the same issue but i find its the rear window that's the worse to the point its soaking and i have to use a towel ... i have put it down to how well the doors are sealed when closed on my previous vec b i didn't have any issues . I read a post i think yesterday that a member has adjusted all the door locks by a few mm which has helped so this is something i`m going to look at doing on sunday

as for the excess water try a wet and vac to soak it up or towels

Yer, that wont help the situation, let us know how you get on with that.

Problem is, its the lagging under the carpet. Impossible to get to without taking it all up and of which I guess, involved removing th seats ! argh ! lol

wet and vac is going to be the best option without taking the vec apart and a hair dryer or something

Find the pollen filter under the plastic panel under the windscreen under bonnet, Remove this panel and you will see the pollen filter down below.

Under the filter is a drain bung that gets blocked with leaves and muck and water has nowhere to drain to but gets in into your car and under the carpets.

Simply stick your fingers through the drain bung to clear it and all will be well.

Yours maybe just from the weather but do check the above asap.

Thanks mate, yer checked all that and its all clear. My fault, think its to do with the weather to be honest. So annoying lol

In the week, think ill take the trims off and lift the carpet - see what the score is.

There's also another drain hole under the scuttle panel (Rain deflector) on the drivers side under the wiper mechanism..far right..difficult to see.. check that one as well...

Right didnt know that. That might explain the drivers side being wet... As I only thought the passenger footwell was affected when the drain hole was blocked.

Will rip it all out Sunday I think, weather permitting of course

    Thanks all
