Yeah loads of us as its a common problem
The link bar has fallen off on mine, so it looks like a new manifold etc etc. Does anyone know of somewhere local to Lincoln that will supply & fit the necessary for a reasonable cost?
I know that it needs a new manifold, I'm after finding somewhere local that will supply & fit it all for me without me having to rob the kids piggy bank as well as mugging the bank manager in order to pay for it.
Funds are not looking too great so far this year
It needs sorting soon - I daren't use it on any journey of more than about 5 miles for fear of it breaking down at the moment.
As for leaving it. I am tempted to leave it - at the bottom of a lake!
mines been off for months works fine.....
Why does it need a hole new manifold? put it back on and do the swerl flap mod....
Why does it fall off?
Putting it back on, you risk knackering the drive module. The rod has fallen off because the flaps move on their axis - not supposed to, and also because one of the flaps usually 1, 2 or 4 have jammed. Connecting the rod means the drive module has to work hard to move 'stuck' swirl flaps. It will most likely fall off again, however it could wreck the drive module.

If the flaps move freely the £1 fix for the swirls can last months or years as in my case, however as mine was running perfect but the fumes were doing my head in, I went for changing it.
