Default What is "MAF or VAF A Circuit Malfunction"?

I've just had the megine management light come up on my Vectra and reading the code, it indicates a P0100 - MAF or VAF A Circuit Malfunction.

Does anyone know what that means in layman's terms!

you get a can of maf cleaner or Electrical contact cleaner from Halfrauds, costs about £4 ish.

Unscrew the MAF from the air feed pipe and disconnect the sensor wires. Spray all over the MAF the important parts are the small wires that look they belong in a light bulb, take care with those, when done then wipe it off, leave to dry for about 45 minutes then reseat back on the air feed pipe near your mengine, wait another half hour and then go for a drive.. Its rarely necessary to need to replace the MAF, a nice clean with that spray or a bottle of Isopropryl alcohol poured into a plactic bag to immerse the sensor will do the trick.

You may need to clear the code first, but if you can't then it should clear itself after a successive amount of non fault engine restarts..
