    Default First M.O.T and failed

    not a happy bunny
failed on a pitted front break disc. phoned vx dealers marshalls, they said it was not covered under network Q £165 all in (discs and pads fitted)
I then rang services manager and explained the situation, he rang network Q and they said they would replace dics under warranty but would have to foot the bill for the pads. £47 for the pads no vat or labour costs for me
what do you think ? should i have held out for the pads as well ?
didn't want to push my luck

YES, If they were willing to replace the disc's then they should have replaced the pads too,,,
However, they have been generous....good result..

I doubt it that they would pay for the pads, they are fair ware and tear, we would all take our motors back just before the waranty ran out to get them change otherwise, but I think you did ok out of it though..

Nope, brake pads are a consumable item and not covered under the warranty. Pay the £47 and smile through gritted teeth. Could have been worse, you could be paying for the labour too

Yes but dont you need to change the pads when you change the discs?! There discs were at fault so they changed them and changing the pads is part of the hole job!

You were lucky that they paid for the discs, they are consumable parts that need periodic replacement.
