Im not 100% but the way ive read it on here, You can still use the steering function to toggle threw your screen i.e range, mpg, etc and to cancel washer fluid low, bulb out warnings with a after market headunit. If im wrong someone will soon correct me lol. But then you have said you have an aftermarket headunit but you still cant cancel the warnings on your screen (is this right?), it could be difference between half and full can-bus systems.
I have looked at the item and I think you would need to buy a steering wheel adaptor to be able to use steering buttons like volume and skipping etc, not sure if it would be a adaptor from halfords for £20-30 or the can-bus adaptor thats £60-80. I'm sure someone will tell us lol. But after looking at it, if this is solved and you can use all the steering functions I may have a look at getting one myself lol

You should have a button at the end of your wiper stalk which will cycle through the BC functions - this should also clear any warning messages liek low washer fluid, low fuel level etc.

I don't have this on my wiper stalk so I'm getting a wiper stalk fitted which will let me do this.

i wouldnt say 100% yes, but it might be a little too cheap!

Just make sure it comes with everything as some of these chinese headunits are a ***** to try and get any add-ons for!

Hey MWVEC I believe some cars have a half can-bus system and some have a full can-bus system, but not sure on the difference lol ive just seen it mentioned in threads about aftermarket HU. I think it depends on what system you have for the adaptor you need to use all the steering functions etc.

I have emailed the seller requesting what is needed to fit this headunit into a vectra c with a full can-bus system. They have replied requesting pictures of the plug for the system etc, I will keep you informed.

Half Can has normal ISO, Full Can has quadlock connections. Half Canbus cars have buttons on the steering wheel, Full Can cars have rollers. If you have a Half Can car then this HU will go straight in, although getting the steering wheel controls to work may take some brain work.

Have you thought about sending an email via ebay to one of his customers to ask what the HU is like now they have it fitted. I'd imagine most people leave there feedback as soon as they receive the item.

Good idea that rushy. I will do that straight away and let you guys know the reply. Looking at the HU it comes with the patch lead so im guessing you will just need the correct adaptor to get the steering controls working.
