Default Wish i had bought a auto....

Purchased my 06 veccy cdti 120 8v around 2 months ago,and after 3800 miles i have come to a few things that are niggling me.

1,I think the car could do with a remap, mainly due to the lumpy/surge like power delivery.

2,really wish the car was a auto, even if it hurts the mpg.I find the short 6pd box rather tiresome in traffic going up and down speeds.Im sure the tourqe from the cdti could cope with a slushbox fine.

    things i love,

1,auto lights, auto wipers, auto climate controll and cruise control, all these little touches make the car feel special to me,lie a more premium brand.

2,The board control for the car,the timer, range, average mpg and instant mpg,and also in my car the cd70 navigation with tmc.

3,the size of of the thing, have taken 3 adults including me and it didnt even feel like they were on board, loads of room too.

just a few of my observations so far

Autoboxes are good, tiptronic so option to change up/down manually if you really want to.

I have a 2006 2.2 direct auto, Only had it 6 weeks driven about 700 miles. Its my first auto after driving manuals for 8 years, I must say I do love it, I thought I would find it boring but with the choice of auto or the geartronic you can still give it some abuse like a manual but without a clutch pedal lol.
But I would like some of the extras you have lol, I got the sri models so crappy cd30 (doesnt even play mp3 discs), no auto lights no climate control. I do have auto wipers and cruise control, oh and the rear windows arn't electric lol I mean come on no rear elec windows on a 2006 car lol.

But yeah an auto is alot better in traffic, not so boring as people say but lazy driving if you want to haha

Only the cd30 mp3 does lol. I have seen a cd70 with screen and satnav disc for £289 so I might treat myself to it.

Auto box's are great on a new motor in warranty 4 years down road and several miles under there belt you may need to take out a mortgage to fix it when it packs up.

It does take time to get used to the vectra gear box especially if you have come from a petrol to a diesel as i have found but you can learn to live with it.
