Default no abs or traction control.

hi, on my way back from my dodgy wheel balancing session some nugget boy racer pulled right out in front of my, so applied the anchors quite hard and my front wheels locked up, was a dry road. also ive noticed that my car spins alot. thought it was just the wet roads with ice and whatnot. but the roads were in pretty good condition tonight. also when i press my traction control button it does nothing? any help on the guys, cheers, Tim

nope, no abs lights, traction lights, anything at all. been like this from when i got it. never seen the abs light at all. my old mondeo abs light used to come on with the ignition key for a few seconds then go off. dont know if the vec should be the same? and when i press the traction control button nothing happens either. no light nothing. is it ment to? cheers

when you press the tc button you should get a little yellow car with a squigly double line underneath it. if there is no lights or warnings on the dash then you may have to get somebody with diagnostics to do a scan, this will tell you if there is any issues with the abs. You should also check the fuses for the abs and tc, pic below

check the folowing fuses IN THE ENGINE BAY

F7 - TCS MULTI FUNCTION CONTROL MODULE
    F13 - ""
    F16 - ABS
    F29 - ABS

Im not sure if the vec c abs ecu/pump has the same fault that my old vec b had, but the ecu's would fail and the abs, tc would stop working.

double check all the abs sensors, and if there okay get diagnostics done.

    Hope this helps

Do you get the ABS light on the dash when you turn the key to position 2?

cheers very much, will one of those portable code readers be suitable to check for faults? or would it need full diagnostics? thanks

There fine for reading and clearing faults but for similar money you can get op com of eBay, plugs straight into a laptop and does a lot more. Check the fuses first though

Not every holder will have a fuse, but check the ones listed above.
