Default Your opinions on my chosen remap

i've found a place near me that does remaping and then puts the car on a rolling road, the normal price is £320 but until the 31st Jan he is doing it for £200 does this sound ok, i've been told i should expect a 30-35bhp increase, by the way my engine is the z20net and here is the companys website, cheers Lee

In relation to remaps they are only as good as the person mapping the car.

Some will say they are specialist and others wont.

Aslong as its a) a custom map and b) the mapper is not a tard you should be fine.

I had mine done for £150 at the RR session. The guy (baz) did a before run twice to ascertain faults (CAT was clogged) and then they ran three power runs. Baz then called me over and gave me an option of max BHP but lower trq, or slightly lower bhp with higher trq. I went for the second.

Ask them about the boost you will be running.

Seems a stage one will take you somewhere betweeen 14-17 psi with somewhere between 20-27 psi on over boost.

Im not too sure what they all mean but my map sits in these ranges nicely so I am happy.

Ensure they tell you where they are reading the power from. Ours were taken at the wheel not flywheel and mine came out at 181 bhp with 218 trq. I know this works out to roughly 210-223 bhp depending on who you speak to, unsure on trq calc but its noticable and a lot smoother now.

Just ask a few Qs and you should be fine.

Not absolutely essential, but would do no harm.

chuck in a set of Denso Iridium IK20 plugs if you fancy a change to something that may offer a bit more...
