3.0 v6 cdti remap. Is it a good idea or will it wreck the clutch/gearbox too easily? Not planing on using a plugin ie. bluefin etc.
What kind of figures could i expect to see?

It isn't so much that the clutch won't like it, it's more the fuel pump. Reading other threads about this, many have said that a tuning box and remap are advised against with the 3.0 V6 CDTi. HTH
Cheers guys, i'll save my money for wheels instead
a few people have had a remap with no problem. I'd wager more than have had a problem, but then thats still not good odds is it?
Ive used a tuning box for the last 35k no problems and the car is transformed if a little smoky.
Preface 3.0CDTI seems to work ok with tuning box.
But with the facelift, like the one the OP has, it has more power/torque than the pre-facelift, and use of a remap or tuning box is not recommended .
Im interested in a re-map for my pre-facelift V6 as well! I know a few people say that there are problems afterwards, but has anyone actually experienced this themselves? Surely a little bit more power isnt going to strain the fuel pump too much?
Has anyone themselves had a remap or a tuning box on their v6?
Mine didn't.
I had a tuning box on mine for about 5k, I think it killed the dual mass flywheel or at least started it rattling. Ian C ran his with the same box for 20k, no problems. However, are you prepared for a £2k+ bill for a new fuel pump if it does die?
Big Sig, did the tuning box cause this or was it your driving style mate?
People tend to 'enjoy' the extra power that the box/remap produces.
