Hi all, just sold one of my vecs, in the middle of the cash was an old style £20 note which i've only just realised are any of the banks/post offices still willing to exchange/deposit these.?

I belive they are mate, i took one into hsbc about a month ago i found.
bank will they change old £1 note and the like so id say bank
It say,s on them "I promise to pay the bearer on demand "£20. As far as I belive you can change it at any bank. Whilst it is no longer legal tender a bank will swap it for " a good one".
I'll give you a fiver for it
as above they may not be legal tender at a shop but the banks will still Honor and exchange them

a bank wont swap it £20 note for £20 note as such straight over the counter, but will happily pay it in to your account, then you can draw it straight out
