what spanner or socket you useing how many sides has it got?
13mm socket and tryed a spanner too. The sump is 6 sides I think I was going to try my 1/2 inch ratchet cause its alot longer but didnt have a 13mm 1/2 inch socket.
I rounded my sump plug trying to slacken it with a 1/2" drive wratchet. If you can jack the car up high enough (& put it on axle stands) to allow you to get a power/breaker bar on it. I found the extra leverage this gave me made it easier to remove sump plug.
you want a 6 sided spanner or socket not them crap 24sided ones get one and drive your car around till she hot then do it undo it let engine cool down and then do your oil should work but dont use a 24 or what ever sided socket as they will allways slip
have you got a step down so you can use your 1/2 drive?? and you can use 2 spanners to get better pullin power i do that all the time
I will hunt for a 6 sided socket as my halford stuff is more then that at 13mm. I havent got a step down. Thanks for your advice guys :-)
or go to little garage and ask them to undo it cost you like a tenner and then you dont have to worry about rounding it or any of that
Stilsons. Although some are so tight they shear the heads off!
