Default Slight hesitation/judder when accelerating 1.8 petrol

Hi... I have a 1.8 petrol estate which over the past two or three weeks has developed a slight judder/hesitation whe depressing the throttle upon acceleration... its sort of a bit jerky. Its slowly getting more pronounced. Its fine once you back the throttle off to cruise. Its not the clutch juddering (which it also does!). Its the engine.

    Any ideas please?

Im going to change the plugs and air filter and have a look at the throttle body to see if its gunked up....

I need to do a long journey this weekend so im a bit worried about it...

Not 100% but I think there is a clutch problem which affects the 1.8's and I think that is a symptom but i'm not too sure.

Not had a judder like that, I did have a slight hesitation more like a flat spot, did the airbox mod and fitted K&N and it seems to have gone away.

Like I said m8 I'm not 100%, I don't know what exactly happens only that there is a clutch problem. It may only affect the VVT's ('06 facelift only).

I believe they were deleted on the 2004 1.8's and later.

Yours is an 05 so it does not have an EGR valve.

IF YOU DO your long journey, put a good shot of redex injector cleaner in before you go,, but as its developing it could be as well to check coil pack.
