    Default MIJ Exhausts

Hi all, as some of you may be aware, i went to MIJ late summer last year to get my exhaust redone lol. i went there the year before and had a straight through decat single exhaust done.

Last year i went there to have a 2.5" downpipe and twin exhaust done. Its still straight through and decat.

Now, on to the problems, since getting the downpipe done i have had an annoying rattle i couldnt work out as i could hear it best inside! yesterday i decided to clean the boost sensor and egr so thought i would have a poke around and was very unhappy with what i found.

When removing the old downpipe, a bolt snapped but they had told me they managed to get it out after an hour of trying but when looking yesterday they havent got it out at all! all they did was glue it and seal it so the downpipe is heald by 1 bolt and glue! and its not like they have done a tidy job of glueing either! On top of this i also found they had lost 2 screws holding the heatshield on and taken 1 from another part of the shield to hold the turbo cover.

So now im left with the job of drilling out the broken bolt and replacing 2 screws. The work itself im not too worried about but its things i shouldnt have to do! They should of sorted when doing the exhaust when i was there and not lied about it. Also, just to put the icing on the cake, The f****d up the exhaust surround when they cut it to fit the tailpipes. I did have plans for it but its waste now.

Im very unhappy with this but its not worth me going back there to sort it plus i dont think i want to take it back there. The exhaust itself is very good but these problems outweigh any good work as now im worried about the rest of it.

Very poor customer service if you ask me and i will no longer be recommending them to anyone.

Its a good idea but cant see it getting me anywhere and i dont really want a "sorry" letter response.

I wasn't happy with what happened when I went so I have never recommended them. At least I'm not the only one now. I was out watching their every move when they done mine as they just looked like a bunch of cowboys.

I went into town whilst i was waiting for my car to go in but i was back in time to choose tailpipes and for them to start work. I was sat outside having lunch when they told me about the bolt so i watched them and wasnt happy with how they were climbing about on the car but when it was up on the ramp i guess they had to

Sorry to hear all this!!! and i like you will not accept "poor quality workmanship". I had a stainless steel exhaust fitted [grade 501] from turbo to the tail pipe at MIJ on my, Vaux. Monterey 3.1 TD. It took some time almost 3 hrs i think, everything we discussed before fitting was complied to, and to now everything as been OK. Sometimes [when its cold and then only for a 1 min.] i have a "tinney, ringing, rattly noise and is not really worth worrying about suppose. Hope you get your car sorted soon....
