    Question Electric Rear Windows?

    Hi Guys,

I've got a 58 plate SRi Vec and my 3 year old has now discovered how to put the back window down - was driving along the road yesterday and I glanced in my right wing mirror and seen his hands hanging out!!!

I was shocked at first when I bought the car that it didn't have electric rear windows but didn't see it being much of an issue until now.

Am I right in thinking it's only the Design and Elite models with this as standard?

My question really is ... does anyone know if there's anywhere/anyone that can convert the rear to electric windows? I don't know if it would be cheaper doing that rather than changing car ... part exchange deals are daylight robbery at the minute!!

Thanks for any help in advance!

    Joe

You can buy the kit off ebay for around £50 very easy to do and there's even a how2 guide on forums you will then need tech2 to activate them

You need to go to a VX dealer to have him activate the electric windows to the rear, costs around about £60 unless you know someone with Tech2 on here thats local.

My daughter used to wind the rear window down, then not be able to wind it back up!!
I went for the cheapest option!! I removed the winder on her side!!

You need to check you have the control wires and the power for them in the main loom. If not you need to rob a loom from another scrap car.

If you have the loom, or have managed to get hold of one, you can normally get the parts of ebay for around £50-100 and if you follow the how2 guide on the forum you then just need to get them tech2 ativated at vauxhall for around £60-80.

    Good luck!
