I have been lead to believe that they could only be fitted at the factory. My siggy doesn't have rails either, I was asking similar questions when i first joined the forum.
I still to this day do not understand why they cant be retro fitted tho
damn, i wonder if there is aftermarket versions? i think it makes the car loos so much better.
Well i changed my roofrails, and i know Tramman fitted roofrails to his..
So no its not neede to be factory fit.
There are two types of roofrails (I believe) - the type fitted at the factory which are functional and can have roof bars attached to them, and the non-functional type which can be retrofitted.
Not correct.. there are 1 type (2 actually.. 1 that is black, and 1 that is Star Silver III), and can be retrofitted to Estate and Signum, there are no differnties to the roof, and all are prepared to have the roofrails.
Well there are also plenty of threads stating you cant retrofit xenon or AFL.. theres no diffents as the structure are the same.. ..
and the Vectra estate are allowed to carry 100 KG on the roof with or without roofrails.
