    Default Someone help!!! Please.

In the middle of changing rear discs and pads. Calliper has already been taken off and the old pads removed.

Can someone please tell me an easy way of undoing the calliper mounting bolts so that I can take the discs off. There seems to be no space to move the rachet to undo the bolts.

Also the piston is refusing to rewind. Do I have to apply a lot of force to rewind (don't want to knacker anything). By the way, this is the tool I am using http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

    Thanks.

P.S. I posted this earlier on today without a reply.

the caliper rewind tool there should do the job, you are using the supplied backing plate to give you the pressure on the piston i assume?

Its been a year since i did my disks and pads but i used a breaker bar pointing it out under car and that did the trick.. be sure you use the correct socket though as you do not want to round those suckers off.

    HI,
The trick to rewinding the piston is to rewind anti clockwise. Which means when tightning the rod in to the piston THE DIRECTION SHOULD BE ANTI CLOCKWISE. Specially on the back wheels if you take the hydro pipes off they will still refuse to go back in until an anti clockwise movement is not provided.
Make sure you're not pressing inwards pressue but rotating anit clockwise.

    I hope this helps you.

Thanks but car is not on ramp and there is just not enough space from the ground.

No mate, it should be clockwise - unless you have an old shape Ford Mondeo estate, where it's clockwise on one of the rear wheels and anti-clockwise on the other side.
