wynns egr cleaner 3.0 v6

i used some of this today as a way of cleaning the egr (nightmare to take off on my engine) i used it as per the instructions but nothing happened,
the engine revved a little higher but no smoke out the back or rough running as others have described,
so im left thinking 3 things
1. it hasnt gone through properly
2. i have a leak and it all escaped before it reached the egr and inlet manifold
3. it was spotless already
has anyone any thoughts

I was getting the EML come on my 3.0 occasionally when accelerating hard in 3rd gear. So I bought 10k Boost from Halfords and used that, I believe its the same as Wynn's as you apply it the same way.

When I sprayed it through holding the revs at 2.5k the engine laboured a bit but there was not a lot of 'stuff' coming out the exhaust. However it worked as the car was noticeably idling smoother and I have not had the EML since.

Hi lads should I be thinking of using this? Nothing wrong at the moment, she's on 54 k miles. Or do I wait until light comes on? Thanks Tony.
