    Default whining egr

hi people, i posted in the general forum yesterday about my whining egr valve, i didnt have much response so i'll try here to see if i can get a result. i have a 04 vectra 2.2dti estate. i have cleaned the egr valve and its sliding up and down like a pole dancer on her pole. i put a little cooper grease on also, so everything is good. unfortunately its still going into limp mode and stopping. when the egr is disconnected, i can drive all day, every day. when connected, and the car has went into limp mode, i have found that the egr valve is making a whining noise, once the whining stops the car will start again. has anyone else experienced this, is the egr valve knackered???

fault codes were saying throttle body sensor, which has now been replaced. i have checked all pipes, hoses, connections for cracks etc. i have removed the throttle body and egr and gave it a good as new clean. just to reiterate, when the egr is connected, the car will drive, then when the spanner light comes on, it cuts out. when i open the bonnet u can hear the whining, which is coming from the egr, as soon as i disconnect, the whining stops. the car will not start when connected and the whining is present. just to be clear, if the egr vale is connected and there is no whining, then the car will start and drive.
