    Default Few problems

    Can anyone help me?
Tried to put extra boot lights in today, using LED strips off Ebay. Tested them on the boot light connector, worked fine. Cut them to length, then tested again. Still fine. Used some snaplock connectors to speaker wire, tested on the plug, don't work. Took the snap locks off, and tried just the leds, they don't work now. Is there something I've done wrong?

Also, I removed the head unit, as it wasn't sitting flush after fitting an IO Play. Didn't disconnect any wires, none fell out, but now I have no sound through radio or cd player, but I still do through the IO Play which is coming out of the car speakers. Is it a HU out and fiddle with the wires again job? Already spent half an hour doing this, and got nowhere other than in a temper !

Finally, I put a wiring loom in for the auto dim mirror, rear light etc ages ago. When putting the roof liner back, it left a big gap by the rear window. So, I decided to try and put it right today. I pulled the slack ribboncable further into the boot, banged on the roof liner and everything is now sitting pretty. But, the map lights don't work, and the interior light only comes on when ignition switched off/door opens. When driving, I can't swithch it on. I'm guessing roof liner down again? Really don't know where to look though, as the plugs in properly, so don't know why it's stopped working.

Typical for me really, tidy some bits up, and create more problems!

did you try closing the boot and locking the car then open boot again to see if it worked as the boot light turns its self off after a while of the boot being open?

Yep I'd taken the bulb out anyway, and as soon as I put it back in it worked, so there was power going through it all the time. I think. Should have worked. Will give it another go tomorrow, as I'm determined not to let it beat me - if I can't wire in a couple of LED strips might aswell not even think about the other things!

I know its silly and you've probably checked but are the LED lights 12v per strip? And have you taken power from the existing boot light?

When I did my boot LED's I had no problems at all lol

    Thanks for rubbing it in.....

Well, I bought them as 12v, and they lit when connected directly to the boot light, but not after the speaker wire was added, even when that was removed and direct again. Only cost a few quid, so may look at getting some more, and maybe some better wire.

Yep it was a red fuse but was supposed to be blue 15A (in my case )

Fuse 20 in passenger fuse box relates to "Yaw Sensor" so doubt it was that.

I think it was Fuse 12 "Battery Control Unit" but don't quote me on that

Cheers, I'll have a look tomorrow. Would that not stop the normal boot light working though?
