finally cleaned

hi guys i finally got round to cleaning my egr valve today, and im glad i did, the valve looked like it had never been cleaned before ive never seen so much soot and crap before here's a few pics of how it looked when i removed it.and a few of when i cleaned it up. its not the best but i can feel a difference in response already. All i need to do now is clean the boost sensor.

Dude, thats nothing. I did mine soon after buying the car and there were lumps of carbon dropping out of it the size of grapes. There was a hole in the centre of the soot about the size of a 1p piece. the rest was blocked.

When I put it back together OMG!!

I didn't clean the rest of the manifold up very well though when I put it back together, but I have just had to fit a brand new EGR valve and I noticed the rest of the manifold has cleaned up nicely on it's own. With the new EGR valve the car performs still better than when I cleaned it and I am so happy it almost justifies the expense. :-)

I would highly recommend cleaning your EGR valve, it is well worth it. As far as I am concerned it should be a service item. It's very easy to do.

yeah i agree mate, paul u need to clean the valve, i feel so much difference already and i still wanna clean the boost sensor and possibly run some of that 10k boost through that people or talking about.
