Default Yet another boot leak question!!!!

    Hi folks, As title says........

I found a leak a few months ago in the spare wheel area. So siliconed the aerial base as there was moisture when i felt up inside it during a rainy night. Thought that was it sorted so went out today and in the cupbaord type things where the first aid badge is i have some cloth in there this was soaking wet, on closer inspection the felt type material on the actual boot lid itself is soaking wet so this would point to the actual boot seal?

How much for a boot seal and could i fit myself?

could there be anything else that would cause the water to get in. no way its just condensation as its way to wet for that.

    Cheers for any help lads.

i have had excactly the same thing it has got to the point that the boot floor has gone a bit rusty as there is always water in there.
Had a look today and as i look at the rear of the car the water seams to be coming from the left side of the boot.
i have stripped all the inside of the boot out to find where the leak is coming from but cannot find it any where

Hi there, I had a similar problem with my siggy just after I bought it . After checking I found the wiring trunking not fitted correctly (tailgate wiring top left) to bodywork allowing water to run down inside the panel & soaking the l/hand light fitting as it went . Finally ending up with a well inches deep . All I did was refit the connector & job sorted ,no probs since.

well since i posted this i got the silicon out and the wiring that goes to the top left i pulled out to silicon up. what a mistake that was as i cant get it back in, the conection on the car is fine its the one on the actual boot lid i pulled out. I also siliconed the rear wiper hole, but its not really rained since. Sods law. So will have to wait to see the results.

Anybody any ides how to get the wiring back in as its a REALLY tight fit god knows how it was done in first place? will try get a pic up to show what i mean.

Think in my case it was condensation in the 'Voids/cavities'...

I had them packed with various bits & bobs...High vis Jacket, cloths, various spares, etc. etc....

I think it restricted the 'through-flow ventilation' on the car.....which was/is/could be ducted thro' those voids....

.. boot carpet wasn't wet but there was condensation in these voids...

Removed this 'junk' and everything was then OK...

    Cheers

when i open my boot after a wet day the water runs down the window then off the side into the boot then obviously makes the mat wet producing condensation when you put the heater on back window the waters gotta go somewhere im thinking this is the problem
