What's the best way to increase bhp???

Hi All,

I've got a 1.8i VVT SRi Vectra (Dec 2008)

Current bhp as far as i'm aware is 140?

I've got a bit of extra cash and want to explore options to increase this. I've had a look about the forums and found a few threads but all about the 1.9 cdti diesel and nothing for my engine.

Can anyone help with the options for increasing my bhp? Remap? Induction Kits?

I'm new to all this tuning stuff so any help would be appreciated!

Your going to need a lot of time & cash if you want to gain any more than 10bhp on a 18vvt

from what i have read on this forum there aint that much xtra power to be gained on the 1.8. if i recall correctly they dont take well to an induction kit. but i might be wrong. sure someone will follow up with more info,

I don't recall any easy fixes for more BHP on a 1.8 VVT, the answer, unfffortunately, may well be get a more powerful model as/when poss.

imho keep the cash and spend it on outher things like vxr stuff ie on the looks and then get a twin exaust as for a big cash outlay you will only see a small rise in bhp

Remaps, exhausts etc are all available. A remap may only give an extra 10bhp but it will improve the way the engine delivers it with better torque curves, removed flat spots etc.

My bro had his old M3 remapped, only an extra 30bhp or something but it drove so much better and was a lot faster due to the removed flat spots etc.

contact MPG as they do a re-map for the 1.8 vvti
