Default Why is Vx so tight?

Tried to fit a rear interior light to my 56 plate SRi but was amazed to find that Vx hadn't bothered to put the loom in with the required plug OK so fairly easy to wire from the front light but for the sake of a couple of quid why not put the wiring in anyway!!
And why don't I get info messages telling me the washers are low yet it tells me when temp is icy and my bulbs have blown!!

One of the reasons I love my 53 plate, it has nearly everything. Most cars get equipment added over the years, the Vec/Signum seemed to lose it

Makes no sence to me either. Youd think it would be cheaper over the long run just to produce one wiring loom, especially the roof loom, then they would only have to stock one loom instead of 4 or 5 different ones.

I had the same problem, I used to have a 57 plate SRI 120 company car but had to hand that back when I left that company, I bought a 56 plate 3.0 V6 SRI and also found that the illuminated vanity mirrors, rear dome light and sunglasses holder wasn't there. I was shocked to find that the wiring wasn't there but a mix of eBay and a morning in a scrap yard or two sorted that lot and gave me an auto dimming mirror and rain sensor too!
On the low washer fluid, check your washer bottle to see if it has the sensor in the side, if not if the plug is there it is easy to fit one. If it is there or you do fit one then it should just be a few minutes to program in; get yourself off to the scrap yard and get an auto dimming interior mirror and cover, fit those and then get the fluid warning and mirrir activated at the same time.
I changed my CD30 for a CDC40 recently, much better than the CD30. Highly recommended.

Seems to be every October in the Vec C's production Vx have removed/changed something.

Oct '02 - We can assume just now the kerb light and lockable glove compartment have been removed. If not these something subtle.

Oct '03 - Possibly more wiring removed. Is this not the introduction of the 3.0CDTI's?

Oct '04 - One of the bigger, Veccy and Siggy become full canbus. Boot and door lock buttons disappear from passenger door. Ability for working TC button reduced - practically - to zero. SRI's loose the chrome window trim, rain sensing wipers and auto dimming mirror.

Oct '05 - The big one - Facelift. More wiring also removal rear vents if not the year before. SRI's get the chrome window trim back.

Oct '06-End of production - More wiring removed.

Well I've got the rear interior light sorted but only by soldering from the front light and cutting the hole in the roof at the back
