Not sure what button is for on new Vectra

Jst bought a 56 plate Vectra Sri Nav. On the centre console there is a button that I couldnt find a description for in the owners manual. Its like got a pic of a person running through some semi circular lines on it. Honestly I dont have a scooby doo what its for and its buggin me lol
anybody help?

Thats the button to turn off the interior Alarm sensors, say if you had a dog in the car and nipped into the shops.

I couldnt find a description for in the owners manual.

On page 74 in my handbook. If you look up "Alarm System" in the index at the back, that'll point you to the relevant page(s)

It fires the anti-personnel laser mounted under the front bumper.
If you don't have that option it turns off the sensors, handy if you're leaving the dog in the car.
Given the uselessness of the alarm system, nobody will notice if it does go off, though.

It is a "one shot" button it turns off the ultrasonics inside the car. But when you turn the ignition on next time it re-enables the ultrasonics. So if you lrave dogs in the car "say" then press the button when you get out and the dogs will not set the alarm off. The when you turn the ignition on again it is back to normal, till you press the "one shot" button again.

Talking of the utterly uselessness of the Vectra alarm...

Is there any way of making it louder than a digital watch alarm? I know if you disconnect the siren, the horn goes off instead, but I think that gives a fault indication...

I did mine and just got use to pressing the ok button when starting .............
