Strange electrical problem regarding radio controls on steering wheel

Hi,
Ive got a weird problem with the radio controlls on the steering wheel. When the radio is on and i use the steering wheel controls to turn the volume up or down instead of turning it up or down it changes the radio channel. Or if their is a cd in and i turn the volume up using the steering wheel buttons, it changes the cd. the radio works fine just seems to be the volume buttons doing the same as the other buttons on the other side of the steering wheel. It was all fine a couple of weeks back but the car has been stood in for the past two weeks or so.

Any help to get this problem fixed.

If you have the radio codes you could try disconnecting the battery for half hour to see if it resets to how it should be.

mine did something like that, pulled the stereo out and made sure all connections were pushed right in. did the job all works fine now.
