Default House Painting & Decorating - Corner/Edge Painting advice

    Chaps,

I need to more advice for painting and decorating.

I need to paint in the corners and edges of the ceiling/wall, where it meets the wall/ceiling. I havent got a very steady hand so getting the line straight and without touching the wall or ceiling with the opposite colour(depending what im painting) is near impossible.

I have tried the mini roller thing in the past which has a wheel on the end to stop paint going on the adjacent wall or ceiling and found it pretty rubbish, so can you guys recommend me something?

Sounds confusing, but I just dont want to have keep going over adjacent wall or ceiling edge with paint as the colour is different.

    Thanks.

I dont think thers many options to be honest. But i got a job doing painting and decorating when i never trained in that area, the first day the boss showed me how to cut in and since then i can do it no bother. I mite not be the quickest but i can do it. Them rollers you talk of are crap ive tryed them befor too. I would just try it take your time have a cloth to hand for if you slip and you will be surprised how quick you can get the hang of it if you stick at it.

True say, its just time consuming. I can get the enitre room done in 2 hours, and then it takes me just as long to do the bleeding edges.

    I just seen this: http://images.esellerpro.com/2250/I/101/64/IMG_5139.jpg and http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Point-and-Pain...item5ade149736

    Would that be any good?

Quality masking tape could be your answer (don't bother with the cheap stuff, the paint will leak underneath it)

Thing is masking is going to be difficult. Where the wall meets the ceiling it a 90 degrees corner (no coving) and its just too hard to mask it as the room is 20ft x 12x and then another which is 10ft x 10ft.

EDIT: Sorry, and all the upstairs are the same too as its all new plaster.

vaux man you can buy edge strips they are just strips of plastic which you hold in place over skirting boards or door jams while you paint the adjoining wall Easy to wipe clean and relatively cheap

I think these ones came from homebase , but i should imagine any of the diy superstores would stock them
