If you use mole grips make sure you protect the plastic with a thick cloth, but as Ros said I'm sure its 32mm.

I take it its a cartridge filter ? doing mine this weekend hopefully. Got a new sump plug and washer just in case. Also a filter housing seal. Anything else i need to know ? Ive never done an oil filter in a housing before, just screw on filters.

Removal is easy, it may just be a little tight. Remove the large rubber O-Ring

Fitting, make sure the cap and housing is as clean as possible from old oil.
When you've fitted the new O-Ring, smear some new oil around it to ensure a good seal.
Ensure the new filter is clipped correctly into place.
Tighten the cap, but not over tight.

    Nothing difficult really.

*Just a note, some caps have a 1/2" square in the centre to fit a ratchet/extension in. DON'T use it. You'll more likely damage the cap. Using the 32mm socket is the way to go.*
