Default 1.9 cdti 150/ How often should you change the glow plugs?

    Hi all

I have a cdti 150 on an 04 plate thats done 114,000 miles.
Just recently ive noticed it takes a bit longer to start which im thinking is either to do with the cold or the glow plugs bein a bit naff!
Was just wondering when they are meant to be changed cos from what i know , they have not been changed before.
I ganna do an overhaul on her this week as ive noticed the shes been running a bit pants compared to a while back and the mpg has started to drop.. Ive already done the air filter and cleaned the inlet out which was full of crap . Now im ganna do the engine oil and filter / and the rear pads ( which are shagged)..
Anything else worth a check??? cheers rich

Hi just had the old vertical spanner sign on the dask (or is it 2 fingers) anyway told it's glow plugs (due to realy cold weather it's suposed to be common at present) cost me £95 to have them changed, but does'nt seem to have made any difference as it was alright at starting before...is £95 a lot (parts + Labour in tidy garage ) o and warrenty does'nt cover it, thought glow plugs only effected starting not running?
    cheers

I paid £12 per plug for mine mate and that sorted my problem... Definately worth doing and doing it yourself...
