so is the smell coming from oil burning in the turbo
so is the smell coming from oil burning in the turbo
That's the bit which gets my attention as that is the early stages of the engine running on another fuel source. Deisels will happily run on their own oil if enough of it is getting into the inlet manifold. There are only two ways in which it can do this:
- The engine has been overfilled with oil and this is venting into the intake so the engine is running on it.
- Turbocharger bearings have broken down.
I will plump for number 2 from what you have described but that is what I would be thinking if it were I.

sorry for all the questions mate promise this is the last 2,could i have caused damage to the engine
In early stages no, however if the bearings fail not only do you run the risk of oil fueling the engine but the compressor wheel could collapse sending debris into the engine also writing it off. One way or another if it is the turbo for sure get it sorted immediately. But if you only got the car within the last 7 days you shouldn't have problems with getting faulty parts replaced at their cost regardless of a stupid warranty.

took it to the garage and its not the turbo,i can hear it coming from the alternator area, that smell has not come back or the revs not sure now, this car does not smoke 1 bit at all,
I thought hatchbacks don't have DPFs?
Autos usually do have dpf, either hatch or estate.
All Auto's, Estates and Signum diesels have them however, some manual hatchbacks have them too.
