Default Looking for some suggestions of where to stay in Scotland

The girlfriend and I are going to go to Scotland for a week away in June to trek up Ben Nevis for charity and do a couple Munros. We have decided to spend our holidays in this country this year and put a bit of money back in the pockets of the UK and see some of our great country.

I'm guessing the best place to stay would be around Fort William but looking at some of the prices for hotels its going to cost around £600+just for accomodation....which to be honest you can get a week away abroad and its easy to see why people holiday out of the UK!

Can anyone suggest anywhere thats worth a visit around Fort William area? The gf and I are very outdoor types and she is into her photography.

    Also anywhere decent to stay?

    Cheers

Spean Bridge is not too far away, nice run round to Laggan, or there's Invermoriston, Fort Augustus - both well within driving distance of FW.

I think the Motorhome idea is a good one. Come and go as you please and if you fancy a hot shower after the Munro's then speak to a local B&B and ask to hire the room just for a shower!

    My advice would be:

From Fort William (which comprises of Torlundy, Corpach, Caol and Glen Nevis!!) head off to Mallaig, catch the ferry to Skye then through Skye, over the bridge and up to Lochcarron, round by Applecross, Sheildaig then onto Gairloch. Poolewe has some tropical gardens which are worth a look then through to Ulapool and back down to Inverness and down the A9. Some parts of the A9 are stunning, just do not be in a rush to get down and you'll be fine.

I live just north of Inverness and am a courier driver so know the area quite well.
