Default Weird noise from Right Rear wheel

Hiya guys. long time no see.

I have a grinding/rumbling noise light braking on the right rear wheel but its not constant, happens now and then.

Any ideas what it may be as disc/pad wear is the same on front and rear wheels, but only right rear is making the noise.

If it helps, it never makes the noise braking in reverse.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Russ

I'd think possibly bearings but then again it would probably happen all the time if that was the case. I'm a bit stumped on that one!

Good chance its wear on the caliper carrier as disc turns it picks up the pad then drops it as the carrier is made of alloy they wear giving you this weird noise. Jack the car up handbrake off spin wheel an watch outer pad to see if it goes up and down with a high spot on disc The noise you hear is the pad falling back down on to the carrier, The part to watch on the pad is the little locating lugs in the carrier, Hope this helps. P/S The niose this can create is like a slack prop shaft rumble on a rear wheel car.

I had no noise when reversing as the pad was down on the other end of the carrier simple way to check is when it starts to make the noise again gently put your left foot on the brake make shure no one is behind you, if the noise goes away under gentle brake pressure that is probably the cause, reason i am saying this is i have just had a similar problem and the fix for me was a new alloy carrier.

I had a simmilar issue mate it's a grating grinding sort of noise, on mine it was the rear callipers partly seized and not letting the pad back off from the disc. Hth
