    Default Front fog lights

I have ordered a switch that has front anr rear fog light switches. At present my vectra has had a replacement front bumper which has fog lights.
Can anyone advise how best to get them working once I fit the new switch unit.
    Mike

    hi
if you have the connector for the front fogs behind the bumper,
then you might be lucky and just connect it up to the fogs and a bit of tech2 and all done.
but worst case is you will need wiring, switch, fog lights, new fusebox then tech 2.
mine was the worst case but all fully working.

The biggest issue with retro fitting front fogs is that you need to have the correct Fusebox(UEC), if not you'll need to replace it. Even if you do, as mhvcbv says you then need to have them activated Via Tech2. I just hard wired mine in the good old fashioned way and put a switch in one of the spare spaces in the centre of the dashboard.

This basically what I did - with a slight variation to suit my idea for our car....posted in various threads.

    Hi Mike,
The programming of the UEC is limited by virtue that your car does not accept the Audio / security pass code that you have.
Ideally, if you wish to look into fitting other options, that require programming, then you could do with getting the Audio pass code from Vauxhall.
You would need to program the instrument panel, UEC and possibly the BCM to enable the fog lights.
Obviously the code for your screen and head-unit suggests that they are from a different car originally.

I have a good idea where the wires go... so I / we can put these in as required.

It is just pot luck though whether the UEC is able to be programmed.

But as suggested above, the easiest way to achieve front fogs, is to fit them via a relay.
(I have done this to the wife's)

The problem with the light switch, is that the fog-light switch is a momentary contact... so a bit messy to sort. flip-flop relays etc.
I fitted a Graphite coloured rocker to ours, which looks nice and tidy.

Thanks for info. I will see what happens, the switch hasn't even arrived yet. One way or another I will get them working.
