Something missing?

Having bought my 03 GSI a few months back i am now looking at fitting HID's but have to sort the error out first which is I believe the front axle sensor.

To cut a long story short there seems to be a plug which sits at the front of the battery box which has nothing attatched, its a fairly large plug with around 16 pins in it, ill try and get a photo to follow.

Could this be where the headlight control unit is supposed to be and what is causing the headlight level warning to come on?

i know its a bit cryptic and like i said ill try and get a photo to make it easier to understand, or if anyone has a GSI could they send me a photo of the area around battery box and washer filler to help me out.

my stock xenon lights have two plugs on the near side lamp (i assume its for the levelling)... not sure if its the same for standard headlights or not though as i've never had it without the xenons

If you have headlamp level warning on your dash.. then yes its soundslike your car had either Xenon or AFL, and that was sold.. but never deaktivated on your car..

Sounds like you already have xenons (Hids).

You have probably realised your car should have factory xenons fitted. Thats a real waste if someone has changed them for standard halogen units. Might be worth looking into getting the original factory system re-instated. Parts occasionaly come up on ebay etc.

Xenons were factory fitted as standard up until 04 plate i believe, they then became an extra.
