    Default 2.216v Engine Temp Query

    Morning All,
Any help on this wod be great.....I've got a 53' 2.2 petrol, the car is running fine other than the engine temp seems to be getting higher than normal....for the best part it is sat round the 90" mark but it now seems to creep up to 95" quickly when stationary/slow moving. The fans come on and it'll go back down... this may be normal but i've not noticed it do this before.

I noticed that on my 2.2 direct auto estate too. Put it down to the cold weather affecting it in some way

it may be your thermostat 95 is a bit high for the weather we are getting at the moment, mine runs at 80,upto 85 at high speed on motorway.
when engine is warm is the radiator hot over the full core,is there any restriction of air reaching the radiator.
you can allways remove thermostat and test it for peace of mind.

    Default Running temp

I run a 2.2 16v direct elite.(2004).Owned 3 years.Normal operating temp on gauge about 96/97,just under the half way point. With the cold spell may take a little longer to warm up but operating temp still seems the same.Hope this is some help.
