    Default The Dredded Z22YH Fuel Pump

    Yes It happend to me.
    Fuel pressure problems.
    I connected my laptop the the car using an opcom OBDII reader (bought on eBay )
    Monitored the fuel pressure and sure enough the pressure droped.
    So £300 later I fitted a new pump and now working again.
    I noticed the oil seal had "blown" from it's seat leaking hydrolic fluid into the cam housing.
    I dissasembled the pump and found it servicable.
    The seal is easy to refit using a large socket as a drift.
    I need to re fill the hydrolic fluid but the original filling port is sealed with a ball bearing, so I will need to drill a new filler hole.

    I am not a full member yet and could not find any pictures.
    My fault was the main oil seal blown off.

    Default Signum 2.2 High Pressure Fuel Pump

    Good stuff 10CLS.
    If you search under `omega2498' (me) you will see that `my' thread has had 17,000 odd Hits. Perhaps you can put a link there to your interesting thread/pics. Why do you think the oil seal blew out ? High pressure petrol leakage around the swash plate pistons - thereby blowing the seal out ?
    When you say you looked at the pressure was that from the lift pump in the tank, or the injection rail pressure ex the HP pump ?
