signum 3.0 v6 cdti...general reviews?

Hi im looking for some info for the v6 cdti signum, im about to put a deposit down for one after loving them for ages but never really needing anything that big until now, iv read alot of reviews about the engine and they all say how impressive it is, returning good power with still easily getting 40mpg+ yet when ever i speak to someone about it they say ooohhh v6 diesel thatl be pricey.....? not sure if its just lack of knowledge or not but just wondered if someone could clarify this?

The signum is an 05 plate with 51,000 and the design model. thanks

I have had one and i would buy another one. If you tune it then it will probably break and be expensive. leave it standard and they are much better.

yeh iv read a few people have had problems with fuel pumps breaking etc, i was mainly looking at buying the elite leather interior mainly for the heated seats.....any idea whether these are a simple swop for the seats or is it a case of rewiring etc?

It depends. Sometimes the cables are there, sometimes its not. The elite seats are not the most supportive either, look for an old leather SRi or GSi interior from the vectra They will fit and are heated.

Well Jake, here in lies the problem. Read any review on any vehicle and we'd all be walking everywhere!!

Any car can be expensive to fix but if it puts a massive grin on your face every time you drive it then...to quote..."priceless"

40mpg+, I wish that I could get that out of mine, it runs in the low 30's.

Apart from this, I cannot complain about the car. Very comfortable, quick, loads of space.

Mine was never lower than 35 with 45 on a run. I believe the new owner gets average 42ish now

I have the auto version and I only get 32 MPG. I dont get on many motorways , but love mine to bits , its a nice lazy engine and if you press the funpedal boy does it make you smile.

I have had my Elite for 7 years and 71,000 miles. It is an automatic and has averaged 34.5 mpg over this distance. As said above do not tune this engine it does not like it. Leave standard and you will be delighted with it. It is a superb engine and is so nice to drive. Check the tyres that are fitted as they must be 95W load/speed rating.
