gear stick/knob

Hi everybody,this is the gear knob and gaiter on my 05 sri vectra,has seen better days





was quoted £192 from vx for the whole unit,so went searching good old ebay........hey presto got this delivered for £35






this one has the chrome insert,just a couple of questions if i may,
1st can i maybe just remove the knob & replace with the new ebay one?
2nd if i cant,how do i go about removing the complete unit from the centeral console?

any help would be greatly appreciated guys

its fairly straightforward mate.............on the new one you have you need to remove the same bolts on the old one, the only fiddly bit is the cables linkage.......you need to prise these out of the old and back into the new once fitted, i used to big screwdrivers to pop it back into place, takes about ten mins
