    Eek cdti 150 reliability concerns

    Hello all

Just bought a vectra c 2006 cdti 150 in exclusiv trim. 31,000 FSH. only done 200 miles so far and v impressed. was sad to see my seat leon cupra with 180bhp go but it was knackered and fuel economy was a joke and not the ideal family wagon. whilst the vectra is not as quick its a good allrounder and still pretty quick when needed

But having a young baby and doing lots of trips to hastings to see the in laws 550 mile round trip was a bit worried when i joined up here and started reading about egrs and replacement manifolds etc and other issues regarding the cdti 150 engine. when these problems do arise does the car just stop and need towing or does it just cause rough running/poor economy and car can still be driven home and then fixed ?.

also are these problems limited to early vectra c's how can i check if the manifild and egr has been replaced ? car has mainly been looked after by arnold clark vauxhall in winsford

    all thoughts welcome and appreciated

Search for cdti faults etc and see how many threads there are. Some are good, some are bad.

There are lots out there, but the percentage of the ones that have faults against the ones that don't? Now there's a question.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

As with any car the vectra has it's faults.

The EGR fault, DMF and mannifold will still let the car run albeit rather rough sometimes in limp mode.

The DMF youcan normally here going a bit before its completely gone, the EGR and manifold start to give you poor MPG and reduce the power lower down in the rev range.

There are a few preventative measure about but i will let you make your mind up on them!!
