Default A note for anyone that needs a switched live for a radio

    Hi guys.

As I found out today, there is a switched live on the heater controls. It's the red and grey wire. DO NOT USE! You will discover as I have, that the radio will come on and off fine, but as soon as you turn off the blower, the stereo will go on standby regardless of ignition key position. Go a bit further down until you hit the cigarette lighter!

Hope this saves some of you doing a re-wire!

Just out of curiosity, ive tried using my cigarette lighter as an ignition live and found it only remains live for lights on the dash, is out of the realms of possibility of using a ignition live from the back of the colour sat nav display at top of dash as that seems to remain live untill key is removed which is what i really need?

Did you use the black wire from the 2pin plug (1black 1brown) connected to the cig socket?

Ciggy lighter stays live as long as the keys are set to ignition, I power several things this way for years with no problem. I believe VX own single din kit even comes with as wire to join to the ciggy lighter.

How do you remove the cigarette lighter to gain access to the wiring. I am messing with an idea, and need a 12v live in that area, thanks!

Open your ashtray and remove it and put your hand underneath, pull through the wires or pop the lighter out
