Default All straight and ship shape

    At last.

I replaced the springs in my Signum last year. I knew that i'd need to get the wheel alignment sorted, but due to a few things it always got put back.

At the end of last year, I took my XP2 rims off the car and decided i'd get it sorted as soon as possible in the New Year.

So this afternoon I treated the Signum to a bit of professional adjustment.

I knew the rear camber was miles out (about 1.5degs both sides). The front was a little out and the Toe angle needed a slight tickle.

I've used Notthingham 4wheel Alignment Services Ltd a few times before, can only say there service and professionalism is second to none.

Blimey what a difference. Nice to have a car that actually feels like it should, again.

Had a quick look on my wifes car as she said it seemed to be skipping on full lock at low speeds, found about the first inch on the inside front wheels are quite low but rest of tyre is still at least 4mm tread left, then went to the back and found the same problem.

Car isnt lowered at all apart from the stuff carried in boot, putting me off lowering it now tbh.

Sounds like it needs the wheels aligning then if your having uneven wear.

Shouldn't put you off lowering your car either.

If you have a suspension spring snap. You'll need to take the suspension apart. When it's reassembled (fitting a standard spring or a lowering spring) you should get the wheel alignment checked and adjusted anyway.

    See my above reply.

I looked at the car at a Vauxhall Drivers Club meet and it was clear the rear camber was way out. Plus I had uneven tyre wear and the rear kept "skipping" when going round corners.

Where I went they have a base price (£34.00) then the more that needs doing the more you get charged

    So my bill was
    Wheel alignment - £34.00
    Adjust Rear Toe x2 @ £4 - £8.00
    Adjust Rear Camber x2 @£4 - £16.00

    Total - £58 add on the VAT. = £69.60

As for somewhere local to you. You'll need have a search and find someone who does 4 wheel lazer wheel alignment.

www.alignmycar.co.uk << that should give you your local centre location, if not google wheels in motion they do a great job as well.

avoid kwick fit and vaux dealers ;-)

Thats pretty good price that i say,
isnt even the cost of 1 new tyre to replace due to first 1" wearing down,
    Thanks for the info
