Default Can someone please tell me why my fuel consumtion has gone so far downhill

as above really when i first had the veccy back in august i could average around 30mpg driving around locally but each day its getting worse, i've got one display on the CID saying 20.3mpg and another 23.4mpg i've got just under half a tank and the range is saying 98 miles, im that sick of it i've even stuck it on ebay so i can get a diesel, i fitted a vxr exhaust to it a couple of months ago could this of made the consumption worse? any help with what i can do to try and improve things will be great, it's the z20net engine by the way. many thanks Lee

as above lower driving speeds running more electrical items like heating heated screens etc will affect the fuel consumption and the exhuast will have had a slight affect as well

not sure about that vxr exhaust,, I had a new back box on my 1.8,and mpg droped 8 mpg, they changed it, mpg straight back to normal,,, the mpg on my 1.8 has droped 5 mpg in the winter but run the engine while defrosting the car. not sure if your computer is telling the truth, try this,, run you car until the fuel guage is on the first red mark, put 18.18 ltrs in (4 gall) set trip to zero, run car until guage is back on the first red mark, check miles.

how many miles do you get with 18.18 ltrs clomp from you 1.8 at the moment in this weather?
