Default Fan belt / Drive belt

Could anyone advise me what the big pulley at the bottom of the engine thats on the belt connected to the alternators ect. as the larger pulley seems to have a wobble on the go. could anyone advise me of what the possible implications of leaving this pulley wobbling could be?

It sounds like your pulley is starting to come apart, best to get it checked out before it does or you will be at best stuck at the side of the road when it does.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Vectr...item35a9b0c86e

They have a rubber insert in them that starts to come apart.

If it's got a wobble now it's going to come off at any time. It happened to mine last year, started off with a vibration, followed by a loud noise and me going nowhere. I don't think it's the easiest DIY job due to the ridiculous pressure needed to get the stretch bolt out, saying nothing of access. As I recall Vauxhall wanted about £300 for the work. I took mine to a local garage with a pattern part (crankshaft pulley) and it's never really felt right since.
With hindsight I wish I'd gone to the main dealer on this occassion.

On the 1.9 the crank pulley is usually held in place by the four small bolts alone (mine is)but I have read of other owners cars that had to have the centre bolt removed as well before the pulley could be removed.
