Just toying with the idea of upgrading my 32 to a 42" lcd, as ive seen a LG one on argos website at £375.00 .
Anybody have one or any opinions. The price is what is making me thinking of upgrading nothing else really.

TBH I really wouldnt go past LG, they are fantastic TV's. Ive got 3 of them, 32" in sitting room, 48" in my bedroom and a 50" in my DVD room. The quality (especially on the 50") is fantastic, when I viewed it alongside other makes the picture quality was most certainly noticeable, and Ive had no problem with them at all (the 48" is now around 6 years old with no issues).
i rate them good to .also got a 50in in the front room and a 32in in the sons bedroom ,both been very good . khalid
I personally don't like the LG. I'm an AV technician and they're the panel i see most with faults/ screenburn. My personal favourite for the money are the samsungs. They had one at tesco for 350. not sure if they're still in though
erm how opinions vary..................had my lg for four years and is still perfect
previous to this i had three...............yes three faulty samsungs in less than 6 months...................may have just been unlucky would never ever buy another.
i would however stay away from the lg lcd ...........pic is lousy...........all of course only my opinion
The LG tend to suffer dreadful Image Retention, but has a program to remove this
I had to run it for about 30 minutes before or after use each day
The Panasonic has no such program and I've not seen any Image Retention, except after playing Grand Turismo for three hours or more, or more than 1 hours computer use
Installer. I work for a guy who has some LCD's going in to the snooker at wembley. They're the ones you'll see on the rig and under the table etc. They display the scores and table (more or less the same image) for about 140 hours. They always come back s**gged. The way to 'erase' the 'burn' is to effectively 're-burn' nothing on to the panel. A combination of a white burst and black burst images is the best way of doing this. In the LCD this sort of resets the electronics and crystals.
It depends on what you want to do with your TV,if your into gaming then the LGs are not the best according to these guys..http://www.avforums.com/forums/freesat/..if it were me i would ask these chaps they know what they are about mate.
