    Default LG 42 " any good ?

Just toying with the idea of upgrading my 32 to a 42" lcd, as ive seen a LG one on argos website at £375.00 .
Anybody have one or any opinions. The price is what is making me thinking of upgrading nothing else really.

TBH I really wouldnt go past LG, they are fantastic TV's. Ive got 3 of them, 32" in sitting room, 48" in my bedroom and a 50" in my DVD room. The quality (especially on the 50") is fantastic, when I viewed it alongside other makes the picture quality was most certainly noticeable, and Ive had no problem with them at all (the 48" is now around 6 years old with no issues).

I personally don't like the LG. I'm an AV technician and they're the panel i see most with faults/ screenburn. My personal favourite for the money are the samsungs. They had one at tesco for 350. not sure if they're still in though

erm how opinions vary..................had my lg for four years and is still perfect
previous to this i had three...............yes three faulty samsungs in less than 6 months...................may have just been unlucky would never ever buy another.

i would however stay away from the lg lcd ...........pic is lousy...........all of course only my opinion

It depends on what you want to do with your TV,if your into gaming then the LGs are not the best according to these guys..http://www.avforums.com/forums/freesat/..if it were me i would ask these chaps they know what they are about mate.

    I have a 42" LG Plasma, 22" LG LCD, 3 32" LED LCD's at work, my sis has a 32" and is getting a 37" LG too.

I highly rate them, use two for Bluerays, got a PS3 on one, work ones are used for PC monitors, running loads of various progs. i also had one of the first 17" LCD's from LG and never had a single issue with it, sold it to someone and they use it regularly 3 years later.

Never had a single problem with one and know a few people with them on xbox's and PS3's.

and the new LG's are as well spec'd as the samsungs and panasonics for alot less.

    LG FTW!!

Maybe they don't know everything, as my LG's only ever get used for gaming, I changed from a 42" Plasma that's main use for almost 4 years was gaming for several hours a night everynight to a 50" LG Plasma, the main reason for changing was that I just wanted a 50", the 42" Plasma is still in use by my parents who also use it for their new Kinect aswell as Sky+ HD.

The 50" has BBC iplayer built in along with youtube and 8 or so other internet thingies..
