Default Vectra C leaking coolant - please help!

    Hi all.

    3.2 V6 GTS (PETROL)
    55 000km
    5sp Auto

Our vectra has been a bit unlucky when it comes to coolant. About 6 months ago we started noticing leaking coolant. At first it was manageble, then it got worse, so decided to give it a fix. Jax (of all places) said its the housing water tap leaking (it was cracked), they changed it and the problem did get better (though not fixed).

However, its starting up again. I have heard of the heat exchanger failing (but thats a scary and expensive problem) on this and other opel forums. I took it back to Jax and they poked around with a camera and concluded it is the heat exchanger. Took it to a Holden dealer (I'm in Australia) and they have said a similar thing.

Any of you guys have this problem? It is getting worse, so would like a solution. Is it a very serious problem that can effect other areas of the car?

LASTLY, I'm in Australia, Brisbane area. Can anyone please recommend any good mechanics to deal with a Vectra if we have some Aussies here? Have had bad experiences with Holden dealers in the past. Euro garage specialising in BMW, Merc, Audi, VW doesnt want to touch Euro Holdens. Any good European/Opel garages/mechanics?

    Thanks

PS: The leak is coming from the right side of the engine (when looking at the open bonnet) - and that is where is the heat exchanger is supposebly located. Any input would be great.

I don't know how bad your leak is but Radseal worked for me, i was losing about half litre a week, now nothing
Someone will be along soon saying NEVER use Radseal but it worked for me so i'm happy.
