Default Rear Boot Buzzer/Speaker constantly on!

    Hey all,

I noticed a strange buzzing sound coming from the rear of my car that only seemed to be happening when I pressed the brake pedal, but it quickly got worse, it started coming on when I didn't press the brake pedal (but went off when I did??) and now it's decided it wants to come on and stay on 24/7! even when the car is off i have a constant "weeeeeeeeee" coming from the rear buzzer/speaker in the fuse cabinet on the left door in my boot.

Aaaaaaaaany Idea why it would be doing this? has one of my fuses gone maybe?

    Thanks.

sounds like a dodgy earth point behind the boot lining around the REC from the way its got worse / affected by brake lights i dont however think there is a fuse for it. im sure someone will be along in a min to confirm this / correct me

check the earth points. If you take the lineing off the side of the boot you should be able to pinpoint where the buzzing is coming from.

    Hey all!

Just thought i'd update and close this thread.

Found out where the buzzing sound was coming from finally! - Whichever company installed the rear tow bar into my car did a really nasty job and used a 3rd party bar with rubbish electrics, because instead of coming with the proper connector to plug into the rear fuze box, it came with it's own box and wires that they used to splice into the rear lights electrics!

Anyway, I decided to remove the tow bar today because i've been meaning to do it for a while, and that's when I found the box and found out that it was the box that was buzzing and not my speaker.

so I ripped the whole thing out, tow bar and electrics, now the car looks a lot neater at the back, weighs a lot less (that tow bar weighed 30kg in all!) and no more buzzing! yay!

    - Next stop, custom twin exhaust system from longlife, it's all booked, just waiting for the date

yeah i was just trying to find a scrappy that would buy the metal off me actually!

you're more than welcome to the towbar if you want it, only problem is i've litterally cut the electrics cable. - and I doubt you want the electrics box that came with it actually, it's ******ed and keeps making a squealing sound which is the reason why I got rid of it in the first place.

on second thought you probably don't want the tow bar, because the electrics are ****ed ;D
