Default 2lt dti needs more power

hiya guys. as you can tell i have a 2lt dti 53 plate. i just done a service on it and had to replace the turbo intercooler pipe. thinking this would make the car run abit better. not much differance but it had to be done anyway.

after spending loadsa money on just getting the car normalish i want to get more power from the car. i think standard its running a miserable 99bhp !!! think it would be more worth wile walking!!!

i dont have alot of cash 2 splash and thought of the obvious panel filter etc. realy want to get ecu re-maped but abit 2 pricy just yet.

i just want some cheepish cheerfull ways to get more from my engine i always work on my own cars and even things to do with tinkering with the engine would be good!!!

any ideas are good as long as there not crap so yeah anyways help me

    cheers

There isnt really that much you can do without spending unfortunately. I have a 2.2 dti and so far have changed the air box to a carbon fibre unit, upgraded the intercooler and all the piping and had a custom straight through decat exhaust and 2.5" downpipe.

Free mods would be the airbox mod. You might as well change the filter element to a k&n or go on ebay and get a universal kit but make sure its enclosed. Also if you have a little extra to spend or can weld, try getting a decat.

Your never going to get much power from the 2.0 unless your willing to throw buckets of money at it

Not always, like the 2.2 only very early ones can be done by most due to a hybrid ecu
