    Default Red hot Turbo...

    Finnished work a wee bit early the other morning and as the roads were dead I went for a blast......A and B roads mainly.
    Got home and lifted the bonnet to find the Turbo glowing cherry red....
    As you can see from the centre of the pic "sorry phone cam" theres the red glow....
    Dont do it all the time buts its good when you do.....

    Hee Hee I remember when I did this on an older petrol car of mine. Couldn't believe it glowing so hard!!!

    Out of interest do you still need to let the turbo run down and cool off before shutting the ignition down.

    I remember one of my pals was looking at a 200zx and he was told to ask the question if the owner did this when he pulled in.

    I take the last mile home slowly to let the turbo spool down and idle it for about a minute on the drive .

    Absolutely. If you've been driving the car hard you need to run the turbo down to cool it down - a few minutes of driving with minimal turbo work will be sufficient if you've been driving it hard.
