    Default front ashtray/cigarette lighter suround

does anybody know how to remove the front ashtray lid and the surround for the cigarette lighter? i'm looking to wrap it in vinyl if they are easy to remove, just looked quickly and was able to unclip the surround for the cigarette lighter but couldnt get it off due to the lid covering the socket

    many thanks

    stephen

Pull out Heater dials (screwdriver in the side and prise out), then the tray comes out easy. Will need liftng over the lid on the socket, but just pull it a bit.

Dont touch the heater dials. Just take the rubber matt out the cubby, put your hand in and pull. slides straight out...

Cant remember if the gear gater could do with lifting on the front side either to make it easier... once you remove the majority of the centre consol, you realise the next time you can strip it all in seconds

ahh ok that sounds easier, gear gaitor is easy to remove isn't it? (just pop the surround off and lift the gaitor?)

Open ashtray lid and lift, clips for the surround are at the sides tho. The leather holder has them front and back... You may not need to, been a couple of months since i did it
